About Host-Alert.com

Host-Alert.com offers one of the only 100% server monitoring solutions on the web. We understand how important it is to know when your servers go down. Not only does it affect you, but it affects your business, and most importantly, your customers. While we can't prevent downtime, we can be the first to alert you. With monitoring as frequent as 5 minutes apart, you will be the first to know if you have a problem you need to worry about. By having a heads up, you will be better able to find a quick resolution instead of being the last to know.

How It Works

Its really quite simple. Our control panel allows you to monitor any domain or IP address. What is more, instead of being confined to a small set of standard ports, you have the freedom to check and monitor any port you'd like. This means you can not only check common ports like 80, 21, and 443, but you can also check any other port including, but not limited to, 22, 143, 110, 25, and any other you can think of. Currently our system supports 3 monitoring intervals. 5, 10, and 30 minutes. You can update your settings at any time and as often as you'd like. You have the choice between Email, SMS, or Both, for alerts. Don't worry, we do not spam you either. Once a notification of a down server is sent, another one will not be sent on the next monitoring pass. In fact, you will not get another message from us until your server goes up. We only send one notification per incident. Each notification is also time stamped so you can keep track for your records. At this time we offer SMS services for the following carriers: T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Cingular, Sprint, Verizon, and Nextel. If your cell phone is not available, please fill out our support form requesting an addition to be made. To expedite this request, please include the email extension your carrier uses. For example, T-Mobile users are 1234567890@tmomail.net.

For abuse reasons, we only allow one host to be monitored per account. So if you have multiple hosts to be monitored, simply sign up for another account or 2. We don't really care how many accounts you have as this is just our way of cutting down on abuse. Also, if we find that you are abusing our services, we will suspend your account. All IP addresses are logged, so enough incidents can have you blocked from our site completely. Just a friendly reminder.
